Africa's Indoor Mural: Ghana, Africa
This project was the first painting I had done in nearly three years, can you believe it?! I had a blast on it though and it was so much fun to see the kids’ reactions when I was finished. Seeing art up close and personal is basically nonexistent to them. The school in Africa where I taught, Springforth International School, has the classrooms named after flowers: Rose, Zinnia, Marigold, Orchid, Sunflower, Daisy, Violet and Hibiscus. The wall depicts all of us in the garden of learning, heading up toward the sun! It was a blast and at the end I let my kids paint the entire rest of the classroom. They had a great time and it was so much fun painting with them. The room will stay as is for a very, very long time. :) All work is done independent unless stated otherwise, and completed entirely freehand.
